Although living oceans away from Bangladesh, I strive to keep up with events in the country of my birth. In the beginning, it wasn't easy, because the news outlets left much to be desired. There was no consistency in the coverage, and often it was so driven by ideology and partisanship that what was served up was not news but one-sided, and often risible, opinions.

Then I discovered bdnews24.com. I have found this online newspaper to be fair and balanced, offering not just coverage but perspective, a rarity in Bangladesh. The categories, selection and        diversity of news items and opinon pieces are excellent. Everything I want to know about Bangladesh is written up by seasoned journalists that are at once informative and clarifying. The focus on technology, science, the arts, sports, and business is distinctive. The website is designed with the user in mind, although I must say there is room for improvement.

All in all, bdnews24.com is my news source for Bangladesh. I have no need for any other.
