The continued global pre-eminence of bdnews24 as the English language, digital-only gateway of choice for news and information about Bangladesh is testament to the organisation’s extraordinary breadth and depth of           coverage, which it has sustained since inception.
Bdnews24 through its team of staff and its networks have forged on, generating scoops and providing essential background engaging with the critical issues of the day – all the while being diligent too in meeting the needs of those readers in search of recreation or lighter fare.
Extraordinary to think bdnews24 sealed its reputation before the likes of Huffington Post. Early in 2011 bdnews24 pre-empted the U.K.’s Guardian newspaper and even surprised the Wikileaks organisation in publishing details of U.S. State Department diplomatic cables relating to Bangladesh; as the editor responsible I took some pleasure in receiving a phone call from a very senior individual from one of the aforementioned parties we trumped who was flummoxed by how we had obtained the information (I think I blandly replied that we were good at online searching).
The journey, however, is challenging not to say costly and whatever success bdnews24 has had is no small part due to the support of a swathe of partners, allies, volunteers and our matchless and simply huge readership in            Bangladesh and abroad. At a moment where the “Made in Bangladesh” label is under increasing pressure, bdnews24 is proud of that particular moniker; long may it continue.
