The numbers speak
We have always had this hunch. More of a conviction. Not anymore though. Events over the last year have shown thatbdnews24.com is the news source of choice on major newsdays. From Vanuatu to the Vatican, from Lhasa to London, Google tracks hundreds of thousands visiting bdnews24.com to read the latest updates of an unfolding story. From a cyclone threatening to devastate Bangladesh's coastal belts, to a raging fire at a garment factory or a war crimes verdict and its repercussions, Google Analytics shows that people from 235 countries and territories visit us to find out what is really happening on the ground. When activists of Hifazat-e Islam marched into Dhaka in early May and held a vigil in the heart of the commercial district, our site clocked 1 million visits. What has been most remarkable is that our traffic has grown steadily over the last few years.
Since 2011, our monthly visits have shot up from barely              2 million to the current 10 million, and still growing. That translates to almost 45 million page-views and over 80 million minutes of internet traffic every month. These numbers, however, are only the beginning. Or so we believe. With exciting new developments and increased interactivity like readers being able to comment and our soon-to-be-relaunched blog site, bdnews24.com will soar even higher.
